MX - Contract Drafting Attorney
Job Description
MX is seeking an experienced attorney with 6 or more years of legal experience to join the Legal and Risk Department at MX. You will support a company on the cutting edge of banking technology by providing legal support throughout the company primarily focused on supporting sales and partnership teams in their transactions. We are seeking someone who is confident, professional, detail-oriented, and proactive in their approach. You will need the ability to work collaboratively, as well as autonomously. Assignments will vary and may include:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements including complex partnerships, technology transactions, subscription agreements, and other revenue contracts.
Provide secondary support for procurement and vendor contract review.
Counsel and coordinate across business, legal, security, and compliance teams to recognize and mitigate legal issues related to Client’s use of MX’s SaaS platform.
Understand and advance MX’s priorities by connecting issues across business leaders and subject matter experts to develop and drive comprehensive, long-term legal strategies that balance risk and business objectives.
Collaborate with legal and business team members to improve processes and ensure business demands are satisfied.
Assist in the development and implementation of company contract policies, procedures, and initiatives
Support a fast-paced business while providing diligent and detailed work products.
Handle ad-hoc projects across a spectrum of sophisticated business, legal, and strategic issues.
Act as a partner and informal mentor to junior members of the legal team.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
6+ years of combined law firm and in-house legal department transactional experience, preferably focused on negotiation of sales or vendor transactions.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment.
Technical knowledge or background (e.g., a bachelor’s degree in a technical field)
Transactional experience focused in the banking, finance, or fintech space.
Experience negotiating SaaS and/or software licensing agreements
