2025 Annual Retreat - November 7-8

Women Lawyers of Utah Retreat  

Registration for our Annual Retreat is now open! This year, we are here to Shine Bright, Show Up, and Stand Out.  We invite you to wear !

When:  Friday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. – Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. for general sessions, with a lunch on Saturday for attending judges until 2:00 p.m.
 
Where:           The Pendry Park City, a Montage Resort
                           2417 West High Mountain Road
                           Park City, UT 84098
 
What:  Gorgeous mountain location, where we will celebrate four amazing women and find time to connect with colleagues and friends. This year’s event aims to strengthen your confidence professionally and personally so we can Shine Bright, Show Up, and Stand Out. We are especially excited to return to the beautiful Pendry Park City, a Montage Resort, this year where we will be able to host our largest group yet. This is WLU’s largest networking event of the year. We will offer 3 CLE credits for attendees, one hour Friday before the social events and two hours on Saturday morning (pending approval). 

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

Friday

2:30 – 6:30 p.m. Registration 

3:00 – 4:30 p.m.               Friday CLE Panel (1.0 CLE Credit, pending approval). We will bring in experts in the areas of financial advising, estate planning, and data security to give you the tools you need to organize your life.

4:30 – 7:00 p.m  Chair Massages, Permanent Jewelry, Head Shots, Photo Booth, and Aura Readings

5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Networking Reception Everyone is welcome to join us for a reception featuring appetizers and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Indoor and outdoor, weather permitting. 

 We are happy to offer childcare services during Friday’s reception and dinner. The cost for this service is $30 for an attendee’s first child, and $10 for each additional child. But space is limited. Attendees will need to purchase childcare tickets separately and in advance by October 24, 2025 If you'd like to reserve childcare services but the cost is prohibitive, please reach out to Beth Kennedy at chair@utahethicscomm.org. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have a few scholarships available.  

7:15 – 8:30 p.m. Opening remarks, Awards, and Dinner During dinner, we will present our annual Mentoring Award and Student Scholarships, along with honoring our Past President, Holly Nelson, for her generous service to WLU.

8:30 – 1:00 a.m.  After-party

Saturday

7:30 – 8:15 a.m. Yoga Get up early and join us for yoga. You’ll have plenty of time to make it over to breakfast and the morning CLEs.

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Breakfast The In-House Committee will be offering opportunities to connect with other in-house counsel at the retreat, including at the breakfast on Saturday morning. More information to come.

8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday CLEs (2.0 CLE Credits) Saturday’s CLE programming will give you the tools needed to Shine Bright, Show Up, and Stand Out. The first session will help you build your personal brand and market yourself. The second session will help you overcome your reservations and fears in putting yourself out there.

11:00 a.m. Hotel checkout time   

11:00 – 12:00 p.m. Mat Pilates     

11:00 - 2:00 p.m. Judges’ Lunch After the Saturday morning program, judges and retired judges are invited to gather at the table with colleagues, past and present, to socialize and discuss current issues facing women judges.

To become a member, login to your member dashboard on the Utah State Bar website. Once you reach your dashboard, click “Join a Section, Local, or Specialty Bar,” and select Women Lawyers of Utah.
 
We want everyone to be able to attend. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have a limited number of scholarships available for those who are not able to pay the full registration fee. Scholarships are reserved for WLU members only. To request a scholarship, please email Beth Kennedy at chair@utahethicscomm.org.
 
Please note that we have a limited number of registrations for law students, and those are organized through the law schools. We please ask that students do not register at this time. Given our limit on attendees at our venue, we would like to first offer registration to our membership.
 
Instructions to Register:
 
Step 1:   Click HERE to register. Please note that registration cancellations after October 24th are not guaranteed a refund.
 
We are using Zeffy again for registration. Remember to de-select the Zeffy donation fee when purchasing your registration.
 
Step 2:  Reserve your room!After you have registered for the event, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to reserve your room at the Pendry. Please do not reserve your room until you have registered for the retreat, as we must work to ensure that the group room rate is reserved for attendees.
 At our group rate, regular rooms are $215 (plus taxes and fees), one-bedroom residences are $248 (plus taxes and fees), and two-bedroom residences are $281 (plus taxes and fees). There also are multiple alternative lodging options within walking distance of the Pendry, including the Hyatt, Westgate, Grand Summit, and The Lift.  Act fast—the rooms will sell out. Please note that rooms cannot be canceled after October 17th and reimbursement is not guaranteed. If you no longer need your room after this date, please reach out to WLU, and we will try to find another attendee to assume your reservation.
