Foley and Lardner - Junior Litigation Associate – Salt Lake City

Foley & Lardner is seeking a junior-level attorney (JD years 2020-2022) to join our Salt Lake City office as an associate in the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Our ideal candidate will have experience drafting and editing orders on motions, including motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, motions to remand, motions to compel discovery, and motions to compel arbitration; taking and defending depositions, and attending motion hearings, status conferences, scheduling conferences, and oral arguments. Strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, and we strongly prefer candidates that have completed a judicial clerkship for a U.S. District Court, Court of Appeals, or state Supreme Court.

We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated attorney, who is eager to learn and gain valuable experience and who has demonstrated an ability to thrive in a busy, collegial environment, to assist with advancing the long-term strategic objectives of the Litigation Department. While this position primarily supports our Salt Lake City office, candidates will have the opportunity to work with Foley attorneys in our surrounding western region office locations.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Admission to the Utah Bar will be a condition of employment. Interested applicants should submit resume, law school transcript, and writing sample. Current judicial clerks need to apply directly and may not be submitted by a legal recruiter.

Interested applicants should visit our Career Center to submit a resume and law school transcript.
